    Hi
I'm using Portege R500, Windows XP.
From time to time the PC enter to Hibernate mode automatically. Is there a way to eliminate this to happen.
Alternatively, is there a way to remove the Hibernate function from the PC operating system

    Thank you for your support,

    Roni

Are you familiar with the the Power Options in Control Panel?

Or you can study the powercfg command (I think a time of 0 will disable a function).

Ronih10- Your PC likely went into hibernation because your system detected that remaining available power had fallen below the current safety threshold. If your battery is more than a year old or had hard service, it's capacity is going to be substantially less than a new battery.

    To turn off hibernation...

    In XP:
right-click the desktop and click on and click on "properties".
    click the screen saver tab.
    click the power settings button
in the power options properties dialog box click the hibernate tab.
uncheck the enable hibernation check box.
click OK then click OK again

For Vista/Win7, you need to use a command line:
