Hi, as my signature says my laptop's specs I'll go directly to the point, the first time I tried to upgrade the ram the laptop had 2 sticks of 512mb for a total of 1GB, so I tried using a 2GB stick, only 1, and it didn't work because of the processor (t2330), because I researched that my motherboard (Santa Rosa CRB) does support 4GB of ram, also my chipset. But now that I managed to get and install a new processor a T7500 I don't know  if its going to work the upgrade from 2x1GB ram to a 2x2GB ram... so anyone who can help me please?

BTW, here is the link for the ram sticks I've planned to buy

    my laptop it's a Satellite A205-s5804

Pay attention to the maximum stick size your motherboard allows you to put in a single slot.

For example, my Asus supports up to 4GB RAM, but it comes with just two memory slots, each one allowing maximum 1GB stick inserted.

ok, the thing is the santa rosa platform supports 4gb of ram, I have seen other laptops like macbooks supports the 4gb ram upgrade and they have the santa rosa platform. Like I said earlier when i tried the 2GB x 1 stick upgrade to my laptop it didn't work because of the processor (t2330 because it doesn't support more than 2GB). And there are laptops with the T7500 processor working with 4gb of ram, So my doubt is if its the chip-set (or other component) that won't allow my laptop to do the upgrade...

laptop maker is notoriously limiting hardware support
although the original pieces support higher

i think it is more of a overall system decision e.g., batt-life, cost etc
