I took all the screws off the front and back of my Portege 4000 and have put the laptop back together.

The laptop boots but the screen is blank and there is no power indicator. The DVD drive opens. (My system is a dual boot puppy linux/XP with grub bootloader).

Tried taking off and putting back the battery pack and also using and not using ac power, but no luck with the display. This is very strange as it is almost working like a 'ghost' machine. I am wondering if something was loosened when I disassembled it, or is this something more simple?

    Thanks

You may not have connected the LCD cable to the motherboard.

If the LCD cable has come undone, this would have been a mistake as I basically only unscrewed the top part and bottom part and the only thing which I had to put back was the internal mouse (if that's what it's called) cord (which came out by accident) - which I hope I put back properly.

Do you know if there is a good resource for diagrams for Toshiba so I can see all the LCD & other connections?

THIS is for the Portege 4010, I imagine it should be fairly similar.
