Does the recovery disk that came with my Toshiba sk8 include Windows XP, which is what the Toshiba has pre-installed? When I wanted to do a re-install from the disk, I was given 2 choices, the first is to reinstall to the factory condition, and the second choice is to delete everything on the harddrive including any partitions. Does the recovery disk have everything I need for reinstalling if I picked the second option?
I would like to wipe everything clean and start over again because of a virus I'm having trouble removing, I chose to reinstall to the factory condition, is that good enough, or do I need to go with the second choice? I might add that when I picked the first option it also said that everything would be deleted, although it only took around 25 minutes, whereas the second option would take several hours. Could anyone explain how the recovery disk works and what exactly is on it? Thanks.

The first option will format the disk and then install xp.
That is great for removing a virus.
The second option is to make sure that no file recovery software will be able to recover your files. What happens is the HDD gets written to, then cleared over and over. That is why it takes so long.
You only need option 1.
Make sure you backup all of your files first.
