I'd like to recover my Toshiba Satellite C660 to it's original state.
I did not create any DVDs at startup.
On the D: partition there is an 11GB folder called HDDrecovery.
When I press F8 at startup I do not see any option to use them.
does anyone know how I can recover?

Phil,
Try F12 -
F12 brings up a boot selection menu.

Did you see this description of the process?
John -
Yes I did see that one. The option I need, circled in red, is not available.
Any ideas welcome. -
If all else fails, you may need to order the Recovery Media form Toshiba...

ALSO, try this: https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?soid=2737864&pf=true
Might work for you. -
Pressing 0 only gives the option to boot normally.
I find it strange that there are 11GB of recovery files that I'm not able to use somehow. -

I have to wonder whether there is another, undocumented, Fn key to be pressed at the BIOS screen and get into the recovery menu. Samsung, IIRC, uses F4.

Hmm I'l try that too.
I found this suggestion:
Is there an easier way to get a command prompt? I do have a Windows x64 install USB bootable key.
My files are differen than the ones above:
the files on the disc are
recovery disc+
.....boot+
..............fonts
..............bcd
..............boot.sdi
...................eftsboot.exe
......efi+

OK I think I'm getting closer now.
the Imagex.exe is the one I need I think. The .wim file would be the image I guess.
Is the process of recovering the image to the C: drive perhaps called unmounting?
