I recently bought a Satellite U305-S7467. It has an amazingly bright display, which is great. But it's a little too bright for me. I have it on the least bright settings both in the power management tool and also via the function keys.

I am wondering if anyone knows of any more brightness reducing techniques. The screen is bright enough to light up a room, even at the least bright setting. Thanks in advance for any input on this issue.

There's not much you can do when it's at it's least. Is it that bright? lol

    yup u can use powerstrip
OR ati tray tools or ntune(I think)

Personally I use the 'inverse gamma ramp' which inverses all colours so that the dispaly becomes light on dark , reducing brightness....
Also sitting in a very bright room helps.

    Unbelievably so. :)

Thanks so very much for your suggestion! I just installed powerstrip and reduced the brightness and the contrast on my U305-S7467. It is far more comfortable to look at now.
