    Hello,
I broke the internal cooling system of my Toshiba Satellite U200-161.
I have removed all the visible screws on the back of the laptop including those
securing the harddrive compartment and I have removed the battery but, I still can't get the back off. Are there any screws under the pads on the back

    Thank you for your help

Can you post some pictures to give us some more detail?
EDIT: In mine, there was some 15-20 screws on the bottom of my laptop.
Then, you need to remove (only if the bottom panel doesn't give you access to the real guts) the RAM, HDD and CD/DVD drive (this was the one that caught me offguard when I disassembled). Once that's done, you need to remove the keyboard and unhook any wires (remember to take pictures), now the two halves should come apart so you can get where you need to. And if needed, then pull out your MB, flip it over and access the guts. Do the exact opposite to put it back together.

Did you break the cooling system or did it just die?

The U200 also has a few screws securing the 2 halves under the keyboard if I am not mistaken. Check under the keyboard for any sneaky screws that are hiding. Finally, if I remember correctly, to remove the keyboard after all the underside screws are removed, you have to sort of slide the keyboard toward the screen to get it to lift off.
