Anybody able to post here the make and model no. of the factory LCD panel on their X305? I'm trying to nail down the unit so I can get a WUXGA replacement.

Anybody had any luck replacing their laptop with a WUXGA display?

The screen is a LG Philips LPLA101 LCD panel according to Toshiba reps.
    Hope it helps =)

    LPLA101 is WXGA (1440x900), not a WUXGA (1920x1200)

I'm having no luck pulling up that model number either. I'm thinking it may be an internal part number used by Toshiba - LG Philips panels all go by a uniform format like LP171WX2.

Somebody wanna volunteer to pull their panel apart and actually take a look under the lid?

Even with the correct panel, performing the swap ain't exactly a walk in the park. And I don't mean taking things apart. A short power cord or wrong data cable on the new panel will make it impossible to install.

What's really hilarious is that the price difference between 1440, 1680 and 1920 17" screens is around only $80-$100 each way.

Toshiba could really be doing it's customers a favor and give gamers a break by just letting us customize the darn thing. I would have ordered months ago if Toshiba simply had a X305-Q799 "custom configurable" model...

    Are you listening Toshiba???
