I'm helping a friend who needs to have Windows XP reinstalled. She says her M115 S1061 didn't come with a Windows XP disc or recovery discs. By any chance, do these laptops come with a hidden partition? Or does Toshiba sell recovery disc. If it helps, she purchased the laptop at BestBuy.

I'd assume a hidden partition most laptops seem to these days, You could check by going to computer management in control panel/administrative tools then disk management and seeing if there's any partitions you weren't aware of . I think you push F11 while booting to enter recovery, Don't hold to that though. If F11 doesn't work try F12 or F10 I think its one of those three

Edit: By the way, You can normally buy replacement recovery disks for $70 (they cost that much in NZ anyway)

    darkmikey,
I'm sorry I didn't say thanks when you first replied. I went to her home and took a look at the notebook. No partition; hidden or otherwise. That prompted her to look harder and she did find the Recovery disc.
Hey, my kids are 1/2 Kiwis! Nice to see you.
