My daughter's new T135 has a problem with the keyboard flexing too much, and she said she also had the erratic touchpad problem.
I had intended to send it back to Newegg for exchange but they quoted me 7-10 days after return before they could look at it and determine if they would send a replacement. Considering shipping that's over 2 weeks, maybe 3 weeks.
OTOH I can take it into a local repair depot and have them fix or replace the keyboard, and I've read on the net that new drivers might fix the touchpad. This should allow us to get it back much quicker.
Which would be better overall? On the one hand I can see that if I take it to the repair depot then I can see firsthand that it is fixed when I get it back, if I get a new unit in the mail then it could have its own problems. On the other hand it is a shame to have a brand new unit and have to disassemble it to fix a defect.

Send it back to Newegg. They tell you that to scare you into not returning it.
Don't buy a laptop from Newegg. They are great with most things, but they have a terrible return policy with laptops (and LCDs). I know this doesn't help you now, but in the future, avoid them like the plague for buying a laptop, LCD or whole system.
If the keyboard flexes too much, you need a replacement - don't fool around with a broken brand new laptop. They cost too much to play around with getting them serviced a week or two out of the gate. -
I called newegg back and got a RMA #, so we'll see how long it takes to actually get the replacement sent.
Between my business account and personal account I've spent about $4000 at newegg in the past 12 months, and I'm ready to spend about another $4000 in the next month or two, if they will just step up and fulfill their requirements too. I realize the defective product is Toshiba's fault, maybe if the retailers complain to them they will improve their quality control. -
Since that time, I won't buy a laptop or a monitor from them. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars with them, but that experience has taught me that I need to shop elsewhere if I want a good return policy on laptops and monitors. They are fantastic on individual parts.
