I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 Model Number PSAA8C-17202C. Recently I tried connecting it to my television through the S-Video out port on the laptop and connecting it to the S-Video in on the television. I first connected the cable to the television, then turned off the laptop connected that to the cable then restarted. Upon windows loading I started the movie I wanted to play and went into full screen on the laptop. I then hit Fcn+F5 to switch between displays. The laptop screen went black like its suppose, but the television did not display anything. Simply put what am I doing wrong or not doing?

    Thanks

Hey, I have the exact same laptop as you but I upgraded my ram to 2GB :D

Go to control panel/Intel GMA Driver for Mobile, goto display settings, multiple display, clone or extend, and click television, apply and see what happens.
If the doesn't work, try going to the display settings tab.

When did you buy it and how much was your lappy after tax and everything?

I tried that and still nothing  I've tried multiple televisions too all say the same thing "unusable signal".

I bought this laptop in early April. I paid $1,073.49. It was an open box model however.

Do you have the most up to date video drivers?

I bought mine end of February, for cheaper than what you paid and was brand new.
If you want to know the price, ask me, if not, don't.
    Tough luck mate.
