    Hi,

I just received this PC from Toshiba Direct. This is the 2 Ghz model (S100-S213TD). I have done many internet searches looking for an answer to this problem.

The machine runs hot. Because of that the fan runs constantly, and unless you turn back the CPU clock speed and other peripheral capabilities (screen brightness etc.), heat is produced and the fan comes on.

It seems at this point that the problems are simply a matter of physics: small cabinet + lots of heat = lots of fan use.

However, before I call for an RMA to send the thing back, has anyone been able to do anything to mitigate this problem?

Everything else about this laptop is superb. I really hate to loose it but I will not be able to justify the loud fan and hot keyboard wrist rest for the years that I may own it.

    Thanks!
