    Howdy everyone.

I bought a used Toshiba Satellite A135-2276 (not 2246) and intend to use it as an Ubuntu machine. It did not have a hard drive and I cannot find out if the SATA throughput is 1.5 or 3.0 Gb/s. I tried calling Toshiba but all they could tell me is "Any SATA drive will work" and it was 5400 RPM. The technical documentation did not have this information either.

I know the 3.0 Gb SATA drives will "step down" to 1.5 but I don't want to spend extra money if I don't have too. Also, has anyone successfully used a 7200 RPM drive in this model?

    Thank you in advance.
