Hi all.![]()
I'm just curious if anyone here has tried to fit 2 GPUs (SLI) in any Qosmio. If so, how tight is the fit & how hot does the system run?
I recently started using my laptop for video editing.
(Qosmio X505-Q894 (Jan 2011) with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M GPU)
The laptop works quite well. But, video editing has pushed me to wonder if SLI is even possible in any Qosmio laptop.
Your input is appreciated. Thank you!

It is not possible to retrofit a single GPU laptop into an Sli system. In the past Toshiba has built Sli laptops, (Some X305's were Sli), but in those cases the systems had two different motherboards. One mother board was for systems that were to have Sli (Nvidia chipset board), and the non Sli systems all had Intel chipset motherboards. Also the Sli GPU boards had both graphics processors on one board, so that it wasn't even possible to plug a single GPU board into the system due to the different sized sockets each setup had.

Thank you, PK. I wasn't sure if it was possible. Now, I will give up my dream for more GPU power.
Interesting to see that your X875 allowed as much as 32 gigs of RAM. Mine (much older) maxed out at 8MB. Must be nice!
Thanks again.
SLI in a Qosmio - anyone tried it?
