First of all, I tried my hand at undervolting and while I was stable with Intelburn Test at 1.0v on the 10x multiplier, I stuttered in the 3dm06, 1.125v worked 99% and I was happy with 1.250v. I lost about 4c off the top and at idle as well with a voltage of 0.9125v on the 6x. Now if I run Hardware Monitor and 3dm06 I stutter, so I am just over the line. I got 7400 in the 3dm06 which is about 70pts less than before.

Now I couldn't let that drop in performance go unanswered, but my temps are horrible. I idle at 63-64c and get to 80 running the 3dm06 using the 177.79 drivers on stock clocks.

    *that sucks*

So I think about it and think "**** it, I'm going to get some sort of performance boost or else". So someone on another board mentions "Evga Precision" which is an overclocking tool that works very well on the SLI1. What's nice about this program is you can type in specific values. So to wrap this little story up.

    Clocks 460/1234/750
Temps: No change, topped out @ 79c running 3dm06
    Score: 7876 [+486 over stock]

...and they all played happily ever after.

    The end.

These machines run hot, and I can live with that. My GPU's hit 105 before shutting down prior to my cleaning them a few months back....with stock speeds.

I haven't messed with my CPU, but I overclock my GPU with ATITools. It doesn't do shader speeds, but it overclocks core and memory speeds, and has a built it torture test so that it does all of the work for you. I was able to increase my 3dm06 by 822marks

hey, just curious, haven't been on these boards in a couple months.... anybody had any issues with the Nvidia 8600's in these things and the supposed defects with the solder? I've heard of issues with dells and hp's, but nothing with Toshiba yet.... any word or are we good? I figured as hot as ours run we'd be suspect, but maybe not.

Good info by the way, thanks!

My X205-SLi is coming back with a 4th set of video cards. If it dies I am going to pursue getting a refund.

I have not have mine die yet, but they shut down on the FEAR demo on stock clocks. Even Oblivion did this on the above mentioned clocks. I'm back to playing stock again.
