    It should work with no problems. Just remember you would have to do a clean install of the operating system, and all your drives and all your files will be gone. If you clone your system, you can simply remove your old harddrive, and insert this new one and have everything the same.

    If you want to clone your old system you will have to get a cloning cable and software, or something like it. This is the one I used when I cloned my old hard drive to my new ssd:
