Hello to everybody, I'm experiencing a sort of nigthmare: my pc seems dead!!
I turned it on and an horrible blue screen with this message appeared: STOP
C0000221 (BAD Image Checksum) The Image urlmon.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computer checksum

I read on the web I have to download the urlmon.dll file, and I did, but how can I substitute the corrupted file with the new one if I can't turn on my pc?

Please Help, I 've got all my family photos on it!!!!

You can use a Linux Live CD to boot up without the HD. I use it to recover information or file/filesystem work when locked out. Try out Knoppix, has worked well for me.

no it doesn't, it dies after 1 sec and tries to turn itself on again but it can't.

The live cd can be found here: http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html. Use it to recover your data. You can use this to replace the file or Hiren's Boot CD (google) to do it. Both are easy to use with no prior linux knowledge.
