I've figured out how to enable an XMP profile by modding my bios with AMIBCP.

Most toshiba notebooks in the same gen as mine should have a very similar bios.

I Enabled XMP on my stock ram and bumped it's speed up from 1333mhz to 1600mhz by following this:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...e-cpu-z-jedec-screenshots-17.html#post8248187

After that I used AMIBCP v4.5 to enable XMP profile 1 to allow it to run at 1600mhz:
    CPU-Z Validator 3.1

AMIBCP is easy to use, however with the toshiba bios it doesn't play well when you want to save your modded file.

So you need to use a hex editor to keep the bios from becoming corrupted.

A quick explanation of how to avoid corrupting the bios.

First you need the latest version of AMIBCP:
    UPDATE 14 JAN: CLEVO P170HM3 (incl. Aptio MMTOOL 4.5 & AMIBCP 4.53)
When you press 'save' in AMIBCP or MMTOOL, the bios file becomes corrupt.

The trick is to do the following:

    1. Modify the bios file (downloaded version, not extracted from the EEPROM) with AMIBCP.

    2. Take another copy of the bios, open this with AMIBCP, save it without changing anything.

    3. Take a third copy of the bios, this is the one I mod with hexworkshop, never touch with amibcp otherwise it's corrupted.

    4. Compare the first copy (modded with AMIbcp) with the second copy (saved but not modded with amibcp). Whatever changes I see in hexworkshop, I copy over to the third bios manually (again only using hexworkshop on the third bios to keep it from being corrupted).

    5. Last step is to flash to an older bios, and then flash your new bios.
(To flash to an older bios, open it in a hex editor, find the bios version text inside, change it to be higher than your current bios version).

I know I haven't explained this all very well, but I can try to personally mod a bios for any similar notebook if anyone wants to give me a link to it.

So far all I have been able to do is change the ram frequency and enable XMP.
Should be possible to also update the cpu microcode for ivy bridge with mmtool eventually.

I've tried to unlock menus by changing the access/use to "user" but it doesn't actually enable anything after you flash the bios.
If anyone knows a workaround for this, please tell me.

    Thanks :)

Unfortunately, I dont know how to do that, it's not something simple I can change in AMIBCP as far as I know.

Perhaps when bios-mods.com become more active again, you may want to ask them.

Could be possible, do you have a link to your bios?

EDIT: Found bios, working on it.

EDIT #2: Bios plays nice with AMIBCP version 4.53, no need for hex editor.

np8130 bios done, test if you like:
    https://rapidshare.com/files/468527147/P150HM14.zip

I don't take any responsibility if anything bad happens.

If this bios doesn't unlock the options you want, I can hardcode the ram settings (just let me know which XMP profile you want, 1 or 2, also what frequency you want the ram to run at).

haha I don't have the balls for it unfortunately, if there was a jtag port of some sort, I'd try it... but I don't see anything like that.

Assuming if my retailer did even accept the RMA, it took them about 7-8 weeks for my first RMA, I can't do that again, need my lappy for college... though if someone can find some type of recovery mode or jtag ports, I'd try.

    Anyone else willing to try?

Keep in mind that if you force the bios to use XMP profiles and you only have RAM without a compatible profile, that your Notebook will refuse to boot and the only way to flash it back is to feed it compatible XMP RAM. ;)
Even leaving the failsafe on "Auto" and clearing the Cmos/NVRAM won`t bring it back to life... so double check that the people you mod the bios for have compatible XMP profiles on their RAMs. ;)

Also on the Perfomance (P) series Clevo has locked down everything...the usaul Aptio "Acces/Use" changes are simply overwritten and have no effect at all.

P.S.: There is no known recovery procedure for the Clevo Aptios, so if you brick it...RMA. ;)

    Ouch.
I wonder about the possibility of overclocking though, when I looked through lots of options for turbo and such.

I wonder if the hm65 series chipset can't physically change the multiplier or just locked in bios, I am betting the latter.

HM65 has no support for Intel XTU, but you maybe able to change the multipliers on Extreme CPUs directly from bios.
But again the Clevo Bios overwrites hard coded CPU values even for Extreme CPUs on all their P series bios...

    Do you have a 2920/2960XM?

Unfortunately not, if I was able to change the multiplier I'd get a 2920 es right away.

I have a Toshiba Satellite P755. Ive managed to edit the .ROM file and increase VRAM from 64 to 512 but when I attempt to flash, I get project id fail. Any help?
