Hi,
My P30 isnt charging, the charger itself seems to be working because when I plug it into the machine the green charge light illumintaes on the front of the machine. If I leave the machine plugged in for a while it will charge and will then operate for most of the day running on the charger (it did this today). It then gets to a point where it drains the battery and refuses to recharge for a while. I am thinking that either the battery is faulty or there is something wrong with the charging electronics in the machine.
Any ideas ?
Help ;-)

Hey, if it turns out to be a dud battery - make sure to visit toshiba's website to see if you got one of those 'exploding' batteries with your machine; if so then you can get a free replacement battery.
Barring that, I think Toshiba's battery policy is 1 year from the date of purchase of the machine.

Isn't that a pretty old notebook? If so, the battery is probably no good.

yes its a couple of years old, but this has started without warning ie. the battery was holding charge upto now. The only doubt I have is that there must be some electronics/ charging circuit. Is there an diagnostics I can run on the battery ?

Actually I would like to know that myself. I know HP has one for their batteries.
