Hi, I was looking to reformat my computer.

But I have never reformatted a laptop before
and am curious as to how, I believe I have an OS cd.
    No recovery cd though.

The main thing I was wondering about was how to get the bios
and such for my laptop, since the cd I have is for my Desktop at home.
I would still need the wireless features and everything else.
If needed I can burn cd's but don't know what to burn.

I forgot to mention that it runs on Vista for those who didn't know as its Stock.

Not sure if that would make a difference for what I have to get.

All the drivers can be easily downloaded from the Toshiba support site. BIOS updates as well. When, and if, you chose to update the BIOS, be sure to follow the instructions carefully and double-check that your model is on the "supported model" list.

For the most part, you can download the latest driver from each hardware group on the Toshiba site. If you have any questions about what a particular driver is for, post it here.

If your Windows CD came bundled with your computer, it likely is an OEM edition, and likewise will have an easy recovery process. If not, it's still very easy. The Windows installation process prompts you and asks only user-friendly questions. You can read Microsoft's support information for installing Vista here.

Well I did a really really dumb move.
After I had finished the reformat, I realised
(when my screen was sitting on a black screen for 20 minutes)
that the CD I used was Dell (turns out I shouldn't try this right when i wake up)

So my laptop is absolutely dead, can't start in safe mode, can't just start normally, running the format again obviously does nothing.

What I was wondering what if there is any place I can download
a recovery cd. I called Toshiba they gave me another number to call,
I called that number and they said they don't deal with recovery
cd's and told me to call back to Toshiba, so I just stopped there.
