Was Satellite model 1100 only sold in UK/europe. I'm trying to find a disassembly manual so that I can remove the HDD. Is there another model that is basically similar to the 1100?

    Have you checked the sticky?

There should just be some panels that you can take off the bottom of the laptop, and within one of them should be the hard drive.

I should have said that the laptop isat least 5 years old. The only panel, that is held in place by screws, is the memory module. Then apart from the battery, nothing else ir 'removeable'.

Hmm, in that case you may have to just do "exploratory surgery".

    Be careful though.
