The unit is fine for basic computer work, word processing, spreadsheets, web surfing, etc. Is it a good deal? depends on the price!

The price is 777 Euro or there about.
    Is it okay?
I know that generally things are way more expensive in Europe compared to the US.

I am specially concerned about three things>

    1. the amount of complaints I see here in this forum about sound card
    2. The grafic card is only GMA900
    3. that people say Toshibas quality is worsening

Unfortunately it is hard for me to say without knowing the current pricing in your area (Germany I presume?). By Canadian standards it is definitely on the high side, I would be able to find a similar configuration for about $850 - $900 CAD or ~$550 Euro, but this may not be realistic by european standards.

As for toshiba quality, they are no better no worse than any other big name like HP or Acer. High end business models are generally much better quality. The model you're looking at is an entry level model, and will have an average build quality.

My toshiba sound works fine for an inexpensive integrated audio. If you're looking to use the machine for serious music production and play, I'd definitely look for something with a better sound chip. Me, my MP3s sound just fine!

    Good luck,

    Chef
