I'm considering buying on of these because it's on sale at Circuit City right now for only $1099 (regular price is $ 1299.99). I know they are not anything compare to the Qosmio line, but for that price you can't go wrong right?

Well, if you don't need the notebook now, I suggest holding off until Yonah/Napa (dual-core) become more widespread.

Sam's has the same unit (different model number - Sam's gets their own sometimes so they can offer lower prices). They have it for $1099.99. They also sell the 3 year (active after manufacturer's 1 year is expired) for $80 or so. It covers what the others cover.. surges, etc. It's worth checking into.

They also have th Qosomo 2 for $1499.

Sam's also has a 6 MONTH... yep SIX MONTH return policy on laptops with no restock fee. I had to ask the MANAGER of the store since I didn't believe the guy on the floor or the lady at the service desk.

This is, of course, providing you have access to Sam's Club.

I didn't see the model on their website at present. I did a few days ago. They may be cleaning house or organizing the site or something.

Q2? I've never heard of that model. Here in the US, its the F25 or the larger 17" G25. In Europe, Canada and I think in Asia as well, its the F20 and the G20. Which country are you from?

OK I just came back from Sam's today. That Qosmio $1499 that Ninefoot3 is talking about is shown as model number F2 and not Q2. It must be some special model that's a variation of the F25 that they make just to sell at Sam's. And the Satelite that's similar to the A105-S2716 with the same specs is the M45-S2693 and is selling for $1099 (without the hassle of mail in rebates at Circuit City and Office Depot). I almost bought it but I forgot that Sam's only takes cash or the Discover card which I don't have.

    Hmm....

That's too bad - I wonder why Sam's doesn't take American Express or Visa. Anyways, if you don't need a notebook now, don't get it - wait until this fall/winter to start shopping around. By that time, Intel's new chip, Merom, will be in the market.

EDIT: Also keep a lookout for AMDs new duo chip, Yamoto, as well
