Is available at the following link and the only new XP Toshiba I can locate:

    http//www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Toshiba-Satellite-15-4-Widescreen-Notebook-PC-A105-S4384/sem/rpsm/oid/162246/catOid/-12963/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

Is the Onyx Blue Case Top a very dark blue?

Is this notebook likely to be stable for not too much software to be installed and partitioning of the hard drive C: to also make a D: partition?

Will the notebook last or are there issues such as cracking hinges, etc.?

look over my selling thread about Toshiba notebook on sig.

    I have a S4384 version not 4383....

If' it's On core 2 Duo T5500 and up, it's pretty much can run anything you throw at it except 3D games . 1.66ghz Core 2 is not weak at all don't underdetermine the power of Core 2.

THe paint job lid is in dark blue color.

You can split the HDD to 2 parition using many softwares like Partition magic or when you do a clean reinstall of windows.
