This is an all around great laptop but when i want to lower the brightness of the screen i have to press the "fn" key and the "F6" key. The problem is that when i press the function key and F6 it takes forever for the little menu on top of the screen to show up and then actually lower the brightness of the monitor. Is there a way to close or disable the menu that drops down when you press the fn key so that when i press fn and F6 the brightness goes down without having to wait for the drop menu.

If you use Vista, you can usually set default brightness in the control panel "power settings"
