I was wondering why my Satellite A200 which came with Windows Vista installed has not yet offered Vista SP1 in its weekly windows updates. I have installed the latest drivers and even updated the firmware, but there have been no changes. Strangely enough, one of the updates offered was an SP1 Office update, which I did not install as only the trial version is on the computer.

If you just bought it it's possible that it's already installed. If not, it seems like you have some incompatible drivers. You could always manually install SP1 if you felt like it though.

SP1 wasn't installed. I could see by checking properties in computer, It says Windows Vista Home premium but not SP1. If I do have some incompatable drivers one would think there would be driver updates on the Toshiba site. I was unable to find anything regarding this.

I bought an A200-SC3 in July and it did not have SP1. I did all the updates from my son's place that has high speed, but I never got an update for SP1, so since I am on dial-up at home, and wasn't going to download it, I bought the SP1 DVD direct from MS and it installed fine. Well almost fine, it took out the sound card driver, so I uninstalled/re-installed the Realtek ALC268 driver and all is well.
Since you and I have pretty well the same machines with the same drivers, then download SP1 and you should be good to go.

Sometimes, MS wants you to do the older updates before you can reach SP1.

    Thanks. Maybe I'll try it.
