My sister's laptop is dead. When I try to turn it on, no monitor display (not even dim light), no sound, the power light is on, the fan isn't noticeable.

    What she did though is:

    - leave her laptop on 24/7
    - leave it near the floor ontop of a printer (because she used it as a desktop computer + monitor + keyboard) so dust collected inside?
    - guessing Fan broke, and CPU overheated? or something overheated?

Any ideas? I tried plugging it into an external monitor, but of course, nothing.

Might have damaged the motherboard due to overheating. Not the first or the last I've seen.

If it's the motherboard, the only idea is a new one. And not leaving it on the floor 24/7.
