Has anyone done this on an A215-S7422?

To preface this question, I will provide some history. I bought new ram and installed it, but the computer would not boot. I turned the computer off and reinstalled the old memory; it worked perfect. Once the computer had loaded, I did some digging to find out why the memory I bought would not work, and I found two possible solutions: bad memory modules, or I need a bios update. Since returning the memory would take a long time to do, I figured I would try to update my bios.

I got the latest version from Toshiba's support site (v1.9 i think) and installed it from Windows (which I now know is the worst idea EVER). I followed every last detail in the instructions, and right before it was finished, my computer completely powered down - no lights, no noises, nothing.

I get some lights up front when I provide power to the computer (either AC or DC) and the installed drives do the following:

the hard drive spins, but not fast at all
a USB flash drive led light flashes
the dvd drive spins for about 10 seconds

As far as I can tell, I don't hear any other noises. I've disassembled the entire laptop to check for any obvious damage and I can't see anything.

I am 100% confident that I need to perform a bios crisis recovery. I have found various instructions, but I am wondering if anyone here has done it on this particular model in order to do it correct. If you have done it or know how to for this specific model (or any A215 for that matter) please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've seen various web pages with links for files that I'll need, but the links are now dead. Please don't just point me to a previous posting with dead links.

    Thank you in advance!

Update: I just found a USB floppy drive and am planning on giving it a go tonight. Again, if anyone has done this on this model, please post instructions.

    Thanks.

I tried and tried to no avail last night. I borrowed my friend's Microtech SmartFDD USB Floppy Drive and many combinations of phlash16 and bios, but nothing seemed to work.

The main thing I noticed is that my computer will not seem to recognize the floppy drive. When I have the DVD module in, it spins. When a USB flash drive is plugged in, the light flashes. When my hard drive is in, I can hear it spin. But with the floppy drive, nothing: no lights, no sounds, absolutely nothing.

Any last suggestions? Please, I'm running out of ideas.
