    Hey guys and gals,

The screen on my daughters laptop has been flickering for some time now and its getting worse. At first, if you just moved the screen it would stop and be fine. Now it seems to do it most of the time.

I stripped it down and could find no obvious loose cables but I did notice the following. The screen has a thin metal surround on it and if you press very gently on the 2 shorter vertical edges, the problem disappears. Are there any connections down the sides of the screen? If not, any ideas on how to fix it?

i had an idea to try wedges down the side of the screen but wasnt very successful....perhaps a 'proper' fix is in order...

    Any ideas?
    TIA.
