My touch pad is hesitant to start up or work at all! After moving it along for awhile with no issues, the pointer sticks and several attempts are needed to get it where I want it. Any one else has this problem ?

Update drivers? Is there gunk on your touch pad?

Sorry. Generic term. Garbage. Food. Something else. Something that got on the touchpad that is messing with it.

Have you pressed the upper button in accident? That botton disactivates the touchpad.... If not it might be an hardware issue that you would like to check with Geek Squad at BB. Maybe you'll be using your warranty before wanted.

some times on after boot up and vista loading the touchpad works for sometime and during this the light of touch pad in this specific model glows but it touchpad stops working after a minute or so when i am not using it and light of touch pad also stops glowing and then it doesnt starts . I have also found that some times after restarting the device driver has no entry for touchpad .So is it a hardware problem or software ? should i restore my windows to factory image ? please help ....

Honestly I don't have experience with Touchpad problems.
Are you working on Vista? If so, you might want to do a restore. I would recommend you to install Windows 7 perhaps since thats what Im using with no problems at all. -
Sorry havent have experience wid this stuff -

Perhaps you can get it from a friend with this CD?
It might be a Software problem... have you tried out using Ccleaner or error nuker (maybe a Defrag)? Try cleaning up your system and make sure you don't have a missing driver or controller...
There are a varity of options; which I recommend for you, since you don't have that knowledge for fixing it correctly, is getting someone personally check out your laptop.. perhaps at BB (geeksquad)?'
sorry for my short answers, i really don't have that idea of what it could exactly be -
