I have a Satellite A80, and its recovery DVD which came bundled with it. Now I wish to reinstall my OS (XP genuine), on a separate partition.

But the recovery DVD gives no options, and straight away begins formatting the ENTIRE hard disk and installs XP Home over it.

How can I partition the hard drive, and install my genuine XP over that partition only? Please help. I'm sure this would be of help to many users.

Hmm..after installing windows you can make new partition using software namely Partition Magic. It works well.
