I have a Satellite E205, running Windows 7 (64-bit). The touchpad randomly tries to engage the scrolling functions (horizontal and vertical). I've tried turning scrolling off, narrowing the scrolling zones, increasing and decreasing sensitivity, etc. I've also tried reinstalling the driver. Actually, I returned one laptop and got a new one to make sure it isn't a hardware problem. It's not. The new one has the same problem. I called Synaptics and they said they have a driver bug in Windows 7, so I'm waiting for them to release a new driver. In the mean time, anyone have any ideas for how to fix the problem? Perhaps there is another driver I can load? Or maybe I'll just have to use a mouse until they get it sorted out. The touchpad is a Synaptics TouchPad V7.2 running on driver v14.0.11.

I have a similar problem with my T130. The pad just stops responding to the touch after the laptop has been on for a while. I tried changing the sensitivity and all other settings I thought may make a difference, but with no luck. If there is anything out there that will help, I will be grateful for the info. Cheers.
