Hey guys.
Ive been having a problem with my Satellite L25-S1193. I got a program that will
display how fast the cpu is running at all times. When I run programs that don't take up much processing speed (watching movies, surfing the net), I see that my CPU is running at it's full clock speed (1.5 ghz). It will even run this speed when I have the laptop running at dekstop.
The CPU is a Intel Celeron M which I believe is supposed to clock itself down when it is running non-cpu intensive applications to save battery life. I don't see any option in the BIOS to turn this on.
Does anyone know how to turn this on (If my CPU supports it), or how to underclock the CPU in the BIOS? There is no option to underclock the CPU in the BIOS, and no software program will let me do it either.
I have the "Max Battery" selected in the power options in Windows XP.
Any help would be great!

Unfortunately, Celerons don't come with Intel Speed-Step Technology, which slows the clock speed down to save battery life - this is exclusive to the Pentium M only. If you're still within your exchange date with your laptop, I'd take a look at some AMD Turion or AMD Sempron notebooks, which offer AMD PowerNow! Technology, similar to Intel's Speed-Step, which slows down the clock speed to save battery life.
