I have an L505 from about 2009 and have noticed yesterday and today that the screen has started vibrating at times. It has happened most recently at the top left corner, and along the top mostly.

Any ideas? LCD cable, screen, chipset, etc?

It's out of warranty so I will need a solution as well :(

Try an external monitor. If you still get the flickering, then could be a GPU problem.

If the external monitor checks out ok, then could be a symptom of a loose connection or a bad screen.

You don't have any old monitors laying around (even the old big CRT monitor will work). Can even try a LCD TV as long as it has a HDMI port or VGA port.

No TV, and no monitors. I gave my two 22"s away when I gave away my desktop.

Are you only experiencing this on battery? Does your L505 have a Radeon HD4570 GPU?

If so, then it is probably a VBIOS problem.
I experienced similar vibration issues on battery when I installed the L505's MXM card in my Acer laptop. It went away on AC.
