Was wondering if anyone has been succesful at rolling-back this unit to Windows XP (w/ SP2)? I've found a few drivers (i.e. Wireless, Intel Chipset Driver <---not too sure about this one, and the TI Card Reader), but mainly I'm still missing Video, Audio, Ethernet, & Modem (and I'm sure i'm missing some other things which aren't even showing-up in the device manager.)

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forums.

For NVIDIA video cards you can get the drivers from laptopvideo2go.com
For Intel integrated video, you can get the drivers from intel.com (same with chipset and WiFi drivers).

For audio, ethernet and modem, I'm not so sure, what models are they?

This laptop uses Intel (Video) Graphics, although I'm not sure what driver(s) I'm looking for on the graphics-side...gonna try their Chipset Identification Utility
    and see how that works-out...

As for Audio (Realtek), Ethernet (Marvell ?), and Modem (Toshiba)

I struggled, but got everything but the function hotkeys. Can anyone help with those? The other drivers below...

Wireless (Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN), Chipset (Mobile Intel GM965 Express), Graphics (Intel GMA X3100) get straight from Intel site.

    NIC Here:

    http://www.marvell.com/drivers/driverDisplay.do?dId=103&pId=3

Audio Here (Note: I had to extract the driver then manually update PCI device down in "System Devices", this also tiggered modem to look for driver) :

    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3

    Modem Here:

    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/...hfgjehcgfkceghdgngdgmm.0&ct=DL&all_docs=false

    Flash Card Reader Here:

    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/...hfgjehcgfkceghdgngdgmm.0&ct=DL&all_docs=false

    Hope this helps!

There will always be some glitches... But some people feel more comfortable with Windows XP than Vista. That will take time to change...
And about the drivers: I think they have what you need at http://www.toshiba.com at drivers section.
    Good luck!

Can you explain what you mean by manually update? I almost have XP running properly on my A200 but after adding a couple more drivers the PCI device (apparently to do with the audio) popped up as a problem device. Do you mean you right clicked and did an "Update driver" and let XP find it? Or point it to where you extracted the sound drivers?

Edit: Ok I see, XP found the drivers. And now I have the modem show up and a few other unknown devices. But at least the sound is working now.

Like tsnyder77 I just right-clicked it, select "Update driver" then in the dialog allow XP to find the driver itself. It could be something to do with the order you installed the drivers. The PCI device never showed up on my system until I tried installing the audio, which installed but wouldn't work. After finding this thread a manual update of the pci device had it all going.

I am try to roll back a Satellite M205-S4806 from Vista to Xp. The problem is I can't find the right Sata Driver to slipstream into my XP disc. Don't know what to do? How did you guys get your XP disc to recognize the harddrive?

The SATA drivers are downloadable from the chipset manufacturer. Just google your chipset and it will likely bring up the download site in the first few links.

    Here's yours:

    Chipset:GM965 Express Chipset
    F6 Driver to slipstream: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/con...01&DwnldId=16759&strOSs=&OSFullName=&lang=eng

Thank you sir. I have searched high and low. This is the first time I've seen that particular zip though. Much appreciated. Can't wait to get Xp on this machine. I'll post back after I get the new disc made (this will be the 4th try) to tell if it indeed worked. Thanks again.

Okay I have got all but one thing taken care of. The ethernet controller. Any help would be appreciated. I went to that marvel site but I don't know what's what there.
