I am wondering especially from those that have seen/used this model and have seen/used other models how does the brightness of this screen compare to the screens of other popular notebooks?

So far, I feel that the Vaio FS and FE series have the brightest screen I have ever seen, but then again, I've only seen most notebooks shown in retail stores, not "exotic" models such as offerings from Asus, because they aren't offered at stores like CompUSA and Bestbuy.

And I hear that the brightness of notebook screens are measured in "nits". How many nits does the M50/M55 screen have? Do these models use different screens from different manufactuers like I know the HP DV1000 series does?

What other properties make a screen better than others besides brightness? I have heard from some that the Vaio FS and FE screens are so bright, that the colors are washed out.
