Last night it was working fine, I actually left it on in windows and closed the lid and left it on overnight with the ac plugged in. This morning i opened it up and tried pushing the power button to get the screen to come back on, but nothing happened. So I held the power button for 10 seconds or so to shut it off and tried to power it up again, and still no display. I removed the battery and tried with just the ac plug in it, but still no post. It seems to power up fine, all the lights on the front display come on and the cpu fan spins up but nothing, I even tried connecting it to a external monitor, but still no luck. Ive had the laptop around 3-4 years and never had a problem. Any help is appreciated.

I had a similar problem with my Sager NP2090. Tried _everything_ including reseating the RAM (to isolate any bad RAM sticks) and resetting the CMOS.
Bottom line is I had to send it in. I still don't know what it was, perhaps a corrupted bios?
Sorry -
Thanks for the reply, dtd00d, yeah most likely it would seem to be a bad notebook, as I also tried reseating the memory.
But in regards to clearing the CMOS, would anybody no how to do this with my laptop? I know how to clear the CMOS for a motherboard but not for a laptop though. -
Hmm for me the CMOS clearing thing was near my RAM, I remember them instructing me to a small, gold, square circuit about 5mm x 5mm, and I just had to sustain contact with something metal (paper clip) for 30 seconds or so. I doubt it will work because there is no post to start with, but it's worth the shot.
After an I'm Feeling Lucky on Google all I got was something saying you needed to remove the backup battery for the motherboard :/
Look for some type of clearing circuitry or call support. Or perhaps you'll have better luck with Google... -
Thanks again, dtd00d. unfortunately still no post.
By chance you wouldn't know how the M55 detects if the laptop is open or not? I cant see a switch or button that triggers when you open the laptop, just wondering. -
I also noticed the laptop does not access the hard drive anymore, as the hdd led never lights when I turn on the laptop now.
-
As weird as it may sound it might actually be the cpu that is bad. Im going to have the cpu tested and see it that is the problem, once i find out i will let you guys know.

I don't know anything about the M55 really but I'd guess the switch is in the hinge somewhere, generally it's something internal nowadays.
When my machine wouldn't post, I took the hdd out to see if perhaps it was the problem, but no luck there either. I would take the hdd out to back up data if I were you, though it's not the hdd that's broken so if your RMA is nice you won't lose any data. I didn't.
Best of luck, though!
Satellite M55-S325 will not post anymore
