For college graduations, the parents are getting me a laptop. Price range is somewhere under/around $1400 region. Today I was looking and really liked the looks of the M65. Read customer reviews online, and one common complaint was the keyboard sticking or not working all that well. Was wondering if anyone that owned one was willing to let me know how much they loved it or hated it. Also was looking at a couple HPs, specifically the DV4000 series.
How nice are Toshibas? What about HPs? Or am I barking up the wrong tree all together?
Thanks so much.

I would say that the M65 has decent build quality - not as atrocious as some other Satellite models, but not great either. Reguarding the keyboards on the Toshiba and HP - they're about on par, meaning that the M65 and the dv4000 both have average keyboards - nothing special. However, I've heard some complaints about the dv4000's keyboard becoming "shiny" after a few months heavy use.

I have the M60 model Satellite which is the customizable version of the M60. The keyboard issue is a little annoying, but unless you are going to be doing a lot of typing, it's not that bad. The M65 has an integrated video card, so if you are going to be doing much gaming with it at all, I would get the M60 customized with the X600 video card at least, otherwise gaming will suffer. If you don't game, and want a 17" screen, it's a nice choice. I love my M60!

the m60 is a fairly reliable machine, hasnt caused me any major problems. keyboard is annoying, i agree but like jenson said nothing too big. its got like a typewriter click to it. im more of a soft keys person but its not like my fingers are weak.
