    Hi,

My Satellite is out of garantee .....
Original HD (80 gb) has broken, and it's impossible to find the same HD.
    I will replace by a HGST Travelstar 5K750 HTS547575A9E384 - HD - 750 Go - SATA-300 .

1 - I think that Sata 2 (sata 300) is compatible, but works at only at speed of sata 1 (sata 150) . Is it a problem ?
2 - Can I restore the OS on this HD with the DVD created on the first run, does the OEM license permit this job, or block the restore ?

Sorry for my poor language ... Frenchie is Frenchie ....

    Great thanks .

    1) As long as you are certain that your laptop uses a 2.5" SATA drive, SATA 1 or 2 is not an issue. SATA 2 will work on a computer that has a SATA 1 interface. The speed in theory is slower, but ~120MB/s should not bottleneck a non-SSD drive in any noticable way.

    2) The recovery DVD should be linked with the laptop motherboard and not the HDD so I think it should be fine.
