I'm looking at 17" laptops, and I'm seriously considering picking up a customized Toshiba Satellite P100 or 105 during their current sale. So far I haven't been able to find out when that sale is likely to end. Anyone have a clue?

And for those of you with Toshiba Satellite P100s and/or P105s, I have a question I'm hoping you can help me with.

If you have a 9-cell battery, about how long does the charge last? The reviews I've read all seem to discuss how long the machine can go on a 6-cell battery. If I get a P100, I'd like to equip it with a 9-cell battery, but I'm hoping someone can report from experience how much longer a 9-cell lasts.

    Thanks for your time!

    Thanks!

I'm a little surprised it doesn't go longer on the 9 cell. They claim the 6 cell will last two hours.

I guess I'm a little spoiled now. I just had to send back a 17" Dell Inspiron because the screen was poor quality, but it was getting 4 hours per charge on a 9-cell battery. Maybe the lousy screen didn't draw as much power...

You may have something there with the screen. I've had to lower the brightness on my P100 a couple of notches 'cause it's just too bright!!

I was able to watch Revenge of the Sith which is just under 2.5 hours long and had about 10 mins. remaining which I used for surfing. I got just over 2 hours playing RTW Alexander which is pretty graphics intensive. I'm glad I spent the extra $50 for the 9-cell battery.
