I'm starting to believe that Toshiba really are worse than Acer!

I am still having trouble with the sound driver for the P100-160. So far, with forcing various drivers found on the internet I have got the sound to work with two of them. However, it only works until the system reboots. Then the system is silent agan.

Toshiba tells me that the machine is only designed to work with Vista, not XP. This is the kind of response that means you will never buy from them again!

Has anyone got any idea how to solve this ridiculous deliberate marketing ploy by a company that really should know better. Or at least, how to get a real answer from them?

I tried the driver in the previous thread, but it would not stay for the next reboot. Thanks to the poster anyhow!

    Hi Charles

Did you ever get a solution to this problem? I have also installed XP SP2 on a P100-160, and am quite keen to add sound to my laptop's list of features!

    Cheers
