I have a black pixel in the middle of the screen and since the laptop is just one month old I contacted the customer service for help. I was quite surprised to hear that there's a minimum number of dead pixel to replace the screen under the warrany (five!) is this reasonable for a new laptop? Also the CD take 6 minutes to burn 700 mb, I think is quite slow, any hints appreciated!

Yes, that is about standard for the pixels. Did you just notice it or has it been there since you bought it? You could try gently rubbing it. Not sure about the CD burning as I never really pay attention when I'm doing it.

The should be around the right time. Only burns at 16X than 52X on desktops.

The dead pixel policy is pretty much standard around the industry - I'm not sure you can do too much about that unless you want to do a return and try again with a different notebook.
The burn time you mentioned is about right for a notebook. Remember that the maximum burn speed for laptop disk drives is 8X.
