    Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A30 and recentlky the power from the AC adapter indicator light stopped glowing. So i checked the adapter by checking the voltage. it's 19.2Volts as rated.but when i plug it in it does not indicate.
The laptop runs on battery though. now the batt. is dead & can't rechcarge it.

    Please help.

The motherboard on the laptop has a problem...most likely needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the responses you guys.

But since it now no good (as you said) i wud lik to isolate the problem at least to know what went wrong, or why it happened.

Can anyone help me on this? anyone brave enough to walk down that road?

If you can get access to the jack that the power supply plugs into, you could see whether one of the solder joints holding it to the motherboard has broken. That is the usual point of failure if it is a mechanical problem.
