I've got a Satellite Pro L300-19S, with a smashed LCD.
I've found a Satellite L300D-13S, with an intact one, for spares or repairs on eBay at the right price.
Now, I tried contacting Toshiba to see if they used the same screen, and got the generic "not user replaceable, pay £130 to get it fixed by our approved repair people" message.
Do they have the same screen? Can I swap the L300D's LCD into the L300?
What other laptops also use the screen from the Satellite Pro L300?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah... It should be the same screen but remember Pro versions use non glossy screens and the usual versions glossy one´s.
But i would go for a new laptop. -
Why don't you take the screen assembly apart, and check the screen panel reference number, and then look in ebays laptops accessories for a screen replacement. A used and in perfect condition 15.4" screen would cost around £30 including postage. I'm sure that this is less than what you will be paying for the L300D-13S.
How much did you find the L300D-13S for? £100 with harddrive and charger? £70 for laptop without harddrive and charger? -
Found for £43 posted, no RAM, HDD or charger.
The screen on my Pro is glossy, and so is the one on the L300D-13S as far as I know.
The cheapest screen I've found using the part number from mine, N154I3, is £43 posted from China. Both the laptop and screen are on eBay.
For £43 posted, I'd rather have the additional parts such as an ODD, wireless card, and extra casing parts, and that it's probably an original Toshiba part.
I did use a guide intended for Satellite L300s to take the Pro apart, so I think it should fit. -
£43 shipped is a good deal. You should go for it. Just get the seller to agree to refund you if there is anything wrong with the screen (faulty screen, stain marks that can't be seen when the screen is off and so on)
Any 15.4" screen will fit but not all of them will work. As your replacement screen is from a toshiba laptop it should work -
Checking the Panel number is also a good idea
. However go for it but i still prefer buying a new screen and not buying a kind of dead device wich should have a working screen.
Just want to say that buying screens from China my be cheap but you can expect 1 Month until the part has been delivered (Everytime i buy something there it needs 1 Month to get this part to Germany). -
The L300D-13S is on it's way. I do have one question though.
The Pro doesn't have a webcam or microphone, but I have seen Pro L300s with webcams and mics.
The L300D-13S has a webcam and mic. Can I transfer the webcam and mic to the Pro? I am aware it might not have the right connectors.
Just answered my own question: No. The Pro doesn't have a connector at CN7 on the board, the point where the CCD cable connects. It has the blank solder pads that a connector should connect to. Oh well, was worth a look.
Satellite Pro L300 screen?
