This is a 2 year old Satellite U405D running Vista 64 bit. A few weeks ago the screen image would intermittently go black. I could still make out a very dim image on the screen so I replaced the lcd, hence the backlight. No luck. Tried a second one, same thing. Also tried 2 new inverters, still no luck. When connected to an external monitor, everything works fine, including the laptop lcd. Also pressing Fn F5 sometimes causes the lcd to work for a few minutes. Any ideas as to what else to try?

    Thanks in advance.
