    Hi guys,
Thank goodness that i found a forum where i can get information i need. I am planning to buy Satellite X205-SLi1. Do you think this will work well with BF2, Bioshock, Gears of wars, Ghost recon advance warfighter, and games that will come later on. I was planning to buy a apple but since i am limited to what i can do and not enought space and expensive then this notebook. Well the point is, is it worth buying this laptop. Thanks.

No doubt this laptop will play well with those games. Gears of War I'm not so sure since that game isnt out and we know nothing of what specs are required. Dont expect to do some heavey DX10 gaming though because remember that you have two 8600m GT's in SLI with alone arent to stellar.

haha right...you will be able to do heavy directx 10 with those for sure...especially since the resolution is 1440x900. Two of those will be equal to or better than a 7950gtx which can run on the highest resolutions and highest settings just fine(directx9 though), and for that price that is probably the best gaming experience you will get.

I can agree with you on that one. I would get it if I were you. I'd just watch out for a bit because, as the early x205's, these SLi versions may dropin price in a couple of weeks...say...if Toshiba would release 8700m's in SLI.

Gears of War should play well on that system. At the Digital Life convention they had a Gears of War tournament on the X205 SLi systems:
    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3978

In addition Gears of War is what they are displaying the system with on their website:
    http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/ebtext.to?page=gamingMicro&seg=HHO

From what I understand the Sli systems are going to have the same basic structure as the older x205 models, so looking at a x205 locally should give you a good idea of what you'd get with an SLI model (except the SLI model will have better graphics power and a faster processor). (It looks like the SLI models might also have a blue Toshiba light instead of the red one near the LAN switch). ;)

SLI systems should preform extremely well in any game that is currently out, or is scheduled to come out by the end of the year.

I have been playing Gears of War online quite a bit on my sli1 for the past few days and it plays the game very well. I have also been playing Crysis and even that game plays very smoothly on this laptop.

I HAVE A sli1 and it play Bioshock at high settings with dx10 and it runs great awesome game! I just bought the new unreal tournament last night and at max settings except resolution, (i play at 1280 x 800 dont like anything more) it rips I only played some instant action games so far but its a big hit!!! great graphics and addictive action, even vehicles you can drive this could be my next no1 game! Anyway my rig posted 21099 on 3DMark03 which is very strong rating the single 8700gt X205-S9359 posted 13279 3DMark03 in Laptop mags test nov. issue so 2 8600gts SLi for $2000 is a bargain. You could spend more on the SLi3 and get even more performance and be in your budget!

I've been having a hell of a time getting Gears of War to load on my Spankin' New X205-SLI1.

The only difference I see between your build and mine is that I'm using Vista Home Premium.

    Could that be the deal-breaker?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

No I don't think so, right now I am using the game with Vista Ultimate 32bit and it's running ok. You may need to update the video card drivers to 169.09 for the games to work properly that is the driver version I am running on my sli1 and all the game run fine with those drivers.
