Hi there, have a Satellite A305-6916 w/ an HDMI output. It puts out video to my TV just fine, but will not put out any audio. I have tried poking around w/ settings and such and have not had any luck. This seems to be a bit of a common problem, so I'm wondering if anyone knows the needed course of action. Is there a driver I should install, or something else that needs to be done? I know it's not the TV because the audio on our VAIO w/ HDMI works just fine, btw. Thanks!

Have you selected "HDMI audio" in the audio playback devices , right click the speaker icon on the taskbar , and select playback devices.
There is a download for my P300 called "HDMI Control Manager" do you have it installed. -
^yes i've tried to switch the playback device, it always says HDMI is "not plugged in" when everything is hooked up. picture popped up automatically on the tv upon plug-in, audio has yet to be recognized.
i'll try and find that download. was is something specifically for Toshibas? got a link? thanks a bunch.

I managed to find your drives/software but no mention of hdmi , you have an Realtek Audio chipset , and i have an Conextant, and HDMI audio might be handled differently.
