i just tried to order a customizable P100-ST1072 on the phone, the sales rep said the p100/105 is being discontinued.
p100/105 will be replace by a new model, with better features and might cost more.

Does anyone "in the know" have more info on the new model? all I've been able to glean so far is that they will most likely have 2x160GB 5400RPM Drives, and possibly a web camera too but none of that is official. Supposedly due within the next few weeks.

I saw some new Toshiba's showing up in some ads and on Amazon. Satellite A205 model - they are brand new, have a gray/silver keyboard. Is that what you are referring to? Amazon has a few.

I suspect they're new versions of the A100, I've heard the new model number replacing the Pro's could be P200/P205 so sounds like they may be soon introducing them hopefully.

I've had a P100/400 on Order for about 3 week, store rang me to say new model coming out would I wait another couple of weeks or keep trying to get a P100/400 which being discontinued are very hard to get, the store couldn't provide me any real info about the new "P205" though which is frustrating not knowing just what it is I'm now getting just told specs would be similar or better.

Just got the newsletter from microcenter today. They have both A205 and P205, with gray keyboard and the keyboards seems larger than the previous one, which is good.

The new style is redesigned in A205 with similar look to Sony Vaio in terms of screen placement .

    No webcam available yet.

I probably go to the store someday to see how's the improvement over other models. I hope this time Toshiba will make better sales due to slight changes of the outlook of the computer.

I have to look for cheap used A205 and P205 for sale soon if anyone want to order.

Unless I'm missing something, on those P205's at least the only noticeable difference seems to be the inclusion of 802.11n?

You'd think they'd save the model number update from P105 to P205 for the actual Santa Rosa update or something.

Does seem more an incremental update than something worthy of a new model number doesn't it. I'm really interested to see what they've done with the Pro Gaming model which is what I have in theory got on order. Guess it's probably too soon to be seeing S.Rosa and nice 88xx Cards in them yet.

I bet they're trying to keep their Santa Rosa units quiet for the time being. They'll likely announce them around May 9 when Intel announces.

I saw about two pictures, looking at various websites, and it would appear that Toshiba has changed their keyboard layout. This does not sit well with me, and if I'm not seeing things, I will have to get an A135 come summer, and not get a new Santa Rosa-based system.

I know how ridiculous it sounds, but as a Linux user, I have no use for the Windows key and little use for the Right-Click-Menu key and do have plenty of use for Del and Ins, and don't want to see them switched.

I hope the P205 quoted in that article isn't the only replacement model they're coming out with .. a version without a 7900GTX would be a deal breaker for me personally

Generally I think the P105/P205 represents the standard configurations for retail versions of the model, the kind of stuff sold at Best Buy, CompUSA, etc. Presumably there will be a similar P200 which would have configurations with things like the 7900GTX available. But since they didn't make a P105 with anything more powerful than a 7900GS, I wouldn't expect a retail P205 model with a 7900GTX in it.

Never quite understood the rational behind their models numbers when I was doing my research into what to purchase to be honest, seems to be soo many different versions of the same model with only slight variations.
