    Hello,
Lately, after closing the lid to hibernate my Satellite M45, it will restart itself. I have even opened my carrying case to find it on and very hot. What is going on? Has anyone else had this problem?
    I use Windows XP.
    Thanks, MT

Are you sure it's hibernating? Cause I've found that if you hibernate too quickly and then close the lid, it won't respond fast enough and will instead, just sit at the desktop. So, just to make sure that doesn't happen with any more of my laptops, I always just leave it open until I know it's done hibernating.

I've had that problem. I found that I had to wait until the power was completely off before I closed the lid. Then, when closing it, use a gentle touch to just catch clips. With my model the power button is so close to the lid that if I closed it applying pressure anywhere but the front I would accidentally tap the power button.

Ever since practicing those two things I haven't had it return from hibernate unexpectedly.

I'll watch the lights on the front of the laptop and it hibernates. The fan is off and nothing is happening. Then, out of the blue it will start up. Sometimes its when it is nudged or touched, and sometimes it just starts.

Check in your BIOS, you could deactivate all options to start when an option is performed. Off the top of my head, there's when a USB device is unplugged, on LAN, key is pressed.
