I am currently on my road trip bringing my laptop around. I have two batteries; a 6 cell that came with my Toshiba laptop, and a 12 cell that i bought from Toshiba for my laptop. My 12 cell doesn't seem to hold a reasonable charge anymore. I did notice the performance decreasing under reasonable conditions including usage and age. I recall using it last before the Vista Service Pack 2 update. It must have lasted 4 hours of battery life. Yesterday I used the battery, which was fully charged, it only lasted for 50 minutes. I charged it overnight and tried using it again today. I got the same amount of usage time. My question is that battery gone? How could it have jumped to 4 hours to 50 minutes? Did the service pack update mess something up? Thanks in advance.
